This quote is so appropriate given the current state of our health care system and where things seems to be going under the Obama administration...not that I would expect our government to want to make our current system any different then what it has been for the last 50 plus years - a "sick-care" system. Unfortunately, more money can be made off sick people then off healthy people...not a direction that I am partial to follow.

Self-responsibility is where we need to start! In no way does this imply that you should never seek the advice of a doctor/healer. Your doctor/healer/friend/therapist can be an invaluable resource of information that contributes to your overall health and wellness. But keep in mind, wellness is more a lifestyle rather then a condition. You don't just get well and stay well. There are many stages of wellness that require your constant attention...not an easy task! I invite everyone in 2010 to accept responsibility for their health. It may start with a slow walk or a slight change in eating habits. Either way, You're taking responsibility for yourself and perhaps, changing the life of someone who looks up to you. 1 Year Study On Effects Of Heart Strauss Drops On Cholesterol Reduction

Strauss Heart Drops was tested for efficacy and safety in a year long trial utilizing 14 volunteers by an independent research company in Vancouver, BC. Over the 1 year period, subjects ingested 1 ml servings of the Heartdrops, 3 times per day, while maintaining their usual lifestyle and habits.

ARE YOU A CARROT, AN EGG, OR A COFFEE BEAN?

A young woman went to her mother and told her about her life and how things were so hard for her. She did not know how she was going to make it and wanted to give up. She was tired of fighting and struggling. It seemed as though one problem was solved a new one arose.

Her mother took her to the kitchen. She filled three pots with water. In the first, she placed
carrots, in the second she placed eggs and the last she placed ground coffee beans. She let them sit and boil without saying a word. In about twenty minutes she turned off the burners. She fished the carrots out and placed them in a bowl. She pulled the eggs out and placed them in a bowl. Then she ladled the coffee out and placed it in a bowl.

Turning to her daughter, she asked, "Tell me what do you see?" "Carrots, eggs, and coffee," she replied. She brought her closer and asked her to feel the carrots. She did and noted that they were soft. She then asked her to take an egg and break it. After pulling off the shell, she observed the hard-boiled egg. Finally, she asked her to sip the coffee. The daughter smiled, as she tasted its rich aroma. The daughter then asked. "What's the point, mother?"

Her mother explained that each of these objects had faced the same adversity--boiling
water--but each reacted differently:

The carrot went in strong, hard and unrelenting. However, after being subjected to the boiling water, it softened and became weak.

The egg had been fragile. Its thin outer shell had protected its liquid interior. But, after sitting through the boiling water, its inside became hardened.

The ground coffee beans were unique; however, after they were in the boiling water, they had changed the water.

"Which are you?" she asked her daughter. " When adversity knocks on your door, how do you respond? Are you a carrot, an egg, or a coffee bean?"

Think of this:

Which am I? Am I the carrot that seems strong, but with pain and adversity do I wilt and become soft and lose my strength?

Am I the egg that starts with a malleable heart, but changes with the heat? Did I have a fluid spirit, but after death, a breakup, a financial hardship or some other trial, have I become hardened and stiff? Does my shell look the same, but on the inside am I bitter and tough with a stiff spirit and a hardened heart?

Or am I like the coffee bean? The bean actually changes the hot water, the very circumstance that brings the pain. When the water gets hot, it releases the fragrance and flavor. If you are like the bean, when things are at their worst, you get better and change the situation around you.

Maine To Consider Cell Phone Cancer Warning

A Maine legislator wants to make the state the first to require cell phones to carry warnings that they can cause brain cancer, although there is no consensus among scientists that they do and industry leaders dispute the claim.The now-ubiquitous devices carry such warnings in some countries, though no U.S. states require them, according to the National Conference of State Legislators. A similar effort is afoot in San Francisco, where Mayor Gavin Newsom wants his city to be the nation's first to require the warnings.

Maine Rep. Andrea Boland, D-Sanford, said numerous studies point to the cancer risk, and she has persuaded legislative leaders to allow her proposal to come up for discussion during the 2010 session that begins in January, a session usually reserved for emergency and governors' bills.

Documentary On Cancer

I watched this awesome documentary on the "cure of cancer" this weekend. It's based on the success of the "Gerson Therapy"...a proven nutritional program for cancer and other illnesses.

The "Gerson Therapy" is one of the first alternative cancer therapies that has successfully treated cancer patients for over 60 years now. I'm hoping that this documentary will inspire everyone to research alternative therapies on their own and see their merit.
